Paolo Ardoino has been with Bitfinex since early 2015 and now holds the position of Chief Technology Officer. His fascination with computers and technology began early on, and after graduating from Genoa’s Computer Science University in 2008, he worked on a military project focusing on networks and cryptography.
During this time, Paolo honed his skills in distributed systems and cryptography, and over the years, he developed a deep passion for distributed systems, high-performance computing, and cloud platforms. In 2010, he delved into finance and went on to found Fincluster in 2013. This venture saw significant success and delivered a modern web platform serving a variety of clients, including small and medium-sized companies and financial institutions in London, Milan, and Lugano.
After joining Bitfinex as a Senior Software Developer in 2014, Paolo was later promoted to the role of CTO in 2016. As CTO, Paolo is responsible for managing the development team, assessing new technologies, and designing and developing Bitfinex’s backend platform. In addition, he also serves as the Lead Backend Developer at Bitfinex.
In addition to his role at Bitfinex, Paolo also serves as the CTO for Tether. Throughout his career, Paolo has accumulated a diverse portfolio of programming languages and has made substantial contributions to the field of technology and finance. His expertise and leadership continue to play a pivotal role in the success of Bitfinex and Tether.
